Twitter Philippines is flooded of Ondoy Part 2 tweets

Philippines trends on Twitter, Tuesday morning is flooded of tweets about possible Ondoy part 2. Residents of Metro Manila are up all night and have fear of another Ondoy-like scenario due to non-stop rain.

Malacanang already announced the suspension  of classes and work in government offices in Metro Manila and nine provinces today.

“Upon the recommendation of Pagasa and in view of the continuing inclement weather brought about by the southwest monsoon [Habagat], work in government offices and classes in college level in NCR [National Capital Region], provinces of Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Tarlac, Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite and Rizal are hereby suspended today, 07August 2012,” the Palace said in its Memorandum Circular No. 33 signed by Executive Secretary Paquito N. Ochoa Jr.

Residents near the Marikina River were forcibly evacuated after local  authorities raised the 4th level alarm, the Marikina Public Information Office said in its Twitter account. The river’s water level has reached 18 meters following heavy rains since Monday. Affected residents are from villages of Tumana and Malanday.

Meanwhile, water kept rising at the La Mesa reservoir in Quezon City even as it spilled water from heavy rains. At 5 a.m. Tuesday, water at La Mesa had reached 80.41 meters or 7 centimeters higher since the previous hour.
